We managed to fit in a trip to the beach while in Adelaide – Moonta Bay on Yorke Peninsula. Fabulous weather and very warm water and good company. When the tide goes out it really goes out a long way – but the water is crystal clear and very relaxing.

Kilos
Our Adelaide catch up trip has been wonderful fun, and included much eating, drinking and making merry. Before we arrived I was thinking about how to manage luggage weight (do I really need that item for the next 8 months?) so that I would always be under the allowed level and with some space to spare. The suitcase is not too bad (around 16.5 kilos to start the journey). Now I’m thinking about the extra kilos I feel like I’ve put on since I’ve been here in Adelaide. I’m sure I’ll walk or sweat it off in the next couple of months.
Inner city pressure
When does a holiday really start? We’re still in the country but no longer have ‘a home’ – so I’m counting this is as day one. The household goods and chattels were relocated into storage today – now with some extra dents and scratches – and so the rental accom has been vacated (now with some extra dents and scratches). The car has also been relocated, at great expense to our sense of well-being, as well as our hip pocket(s). More about that later when we can look back and laugh.
So we’re now in Canberra’s Hipsterville central (ie Braddon) having totally restored our humour, after a long and annoying day, with dinner at Zaab. You should definitely try it (especially the duck curry).
